چکیده

Abstract Xylella fastidiosa is a plant-pathogenic bacterium that lives inside host xylem vessels, where it forms biofilm which believed to be responsible for disrupting the passage of water and nutrients. Pectobacterium carotovorum Gram-negative plant-specific causes not only soft rot in various plant hosts, but also blackleg potato by cell wall degradation. Chagas disease, caused Trypanosoma cruzi, has been commonly treated with nifurtimox benzonidazole, two drugs cause several side effects. As result, use natural products treating bacterial neglected diseases increased recent years plants have become promising alternative developing new medicines. Therefore, this study aimed determine, first time, chemical composition essential oil from Psidium guajava flowers (PG-EO) evaluate its vitro anti-Xylella fastidiosa, anti-Pectobacterium carotovorum, anti-Trypanosoma cruzi cytotoxic activities. PG-EO was obtained hydrodistillation Clevenger apparatus while determined gas chromatography-flame ionization detection (GC-FID) chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Major compounds identified were ?-cadinol (37.8%), ?-caryophyllene (12.2%), nerolidol (9.1%), ?-selinene (8.8%), ?-selinene (7.4%) caryophyllene oxide (7.2%). Results showed had strong trypanocidal activity against trypomastigote (IC50 = 14.6 ?g/mL), antibacterial X. (MIC 12.5 ?g/mL) P. 62.5 moderate cytotoxicity LLCMK2 adherent epithelial cells concentration range (CC50 250.5 ?g/mL). In short, can considered source bioactive development pesticides trypanocide drugs.
